Second Amendment make rights possible

Regarding Mark Hoover's attack (“Gun protection falls short on proof,” March 22) of the letter Heidi Hepker (“Choose to exercise Second Amendment,” March 9) submitted defending her Second Amendment rights because she did not offer any proof: It is not to say there is none.
If he were not so consumed with promoting the left-wing anti-gun agenda, he could easily find plenty of examples of law-abiding citizens preventing vicious attacks against fellow human beings. He is blindly attributing mall massacres, school shootings, drive-by deaths, spousal murders and potentially dangerous situations to the Second Amendment instead of mentally disturbed individuals.
We have freedom because the Second Amendment allows us to be armed for personal protection and defend against a government that would seek to take away our freedoms. The Second Amendment makes all others possible.
