Scott Roeder abortion trial was a setup

My take on the case of Scott Roeder, who killed Dr. Tiller, a late-term abortion doctor:
The judge did a bait and switch by starting the trial with a manslaughter option to the jury, and then pulled it back. The reason Roeder testified was to get a manslaughter verdict. Because the judge pulled the manslaughter option, a lot of lawyers will get work on appeals.
Abortion will never find a political answer. If the jury had come back with a not-guilty verdict, abortion clinics would all be closed Monday. The abortion providers knew a not-guilty verdict would put their lives at the same level as the babies they killed.
This whole trial was a setup. The first thing that goes in a courtroom is freedom of speech. If the jury was presented with how many late-term abortions Tiller had preformed, they would be glad someone put an end to it. This jury could have made history by ending abortions. Some jury in the future will.
