Schools should not expose children books with inappropriate content

On October 25, Gov. Kim Reynolds was confronted by a reporter pushing the tired and false accusations that Republicans are “banning books” by passing laws to keep LGBTQ propaganda out of elementary schools. These Republicans are nominated and elected by the Iowa populace, whom they represent, and not by some illegal, unaccountable or nefarious minority.
She pointed out that when she read one of those previously allowed books on the local Des Moines TV (WHO-13), the very same media outlets pushing for them to be given to kids, censored her because the content wasn’t appropriate, even for their adult audience.
She also hammered the lie of the left by noting that these books are not “banned.” Anyone can buy them. Parents can even buy them and read them to their children on their own time, in their own home. But it shouldn’t be the place of schools to expose children to porn.
People used to have no problem understanding basic concepts, such as the material that’s inappropriate for kids shouldn’t be in elementary schools. If people have gotten so dumb that they can’t grasp that anymore, then obviously, schools really need to get back to basics and stop wasting time pushing gay porn.
This is one of the primary reasons, why I support the recently passed “School Choice” bill. Maybe, if we persevere, teachers unions, school boards and a few radical teachers will get the message and do the job they were elected to do …. or we can fire them.
