School board not taking no for answer

The Cedar Rapids school board cannot wait to have a special election to double our school tax levy (Physical Plant and Equipment Levy).
They, like the city leaders, cannot take no for an answer. The city spent our tax money on a hotel. Now they do not have the money to fix our streets. The school board spent excessively on the new administration building on Edgewood Road and also closed needed school facilities. What they spent on the print shop and maintenance shop was a needed expense, but the rest of that building was overdone and overspent.
If you didn't take the tour when they had the open house, you should go out and see how your money was spent. A special election costs money also, but the present administration doesn't care. I am proud to see the voters have turned this proposal down and should continue to do so until these people show some fiscal responsibility.
