Say yes to CRCSD bond

We moved to Cedar Rapids from South Carolina in 2013 when Jason was offered the role of Principal at Kennedy High School. We pursued the opportunity because we were looking at Cedar Rapids as a quality place to raise our family. We wanted our children to get the best possible education. We found it in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. We have been a proud CRCSD family for the last 10 years.
That is why we strongly support the CRCSD Comprehensive Master Facilities Plan and general obligation bond proposed by the district. We moved to Cedar Rapids from a very low-tax state. Although we certainly enjoyed low property taxes, the consequence was less-than-adequate schools. Bottom line, we got what we paid for. The notion of paying more taxes isn’t something any of us want to do. But we also realize that if we want our children — and all children in our community — to have the best education possible, we must invest in the facilities that provide those opportunities.
Over the next 20 years, thousands of families will make a decision about where to raise their families. Our community has so much to offer. Let’s take the bold step to ensure that our schools remain an important part of that appeal. We could not be happier with the education our children are receiving in the Cedar Rapids Community School District and we want this excellence to continue for generations to come.
