Save elevator for those in need

The new Cedar Rapids Public Library is fabulous and a wonderful addition to our community.
My family attended the grand opening. My child is in a wheelchair and the wait for the elevator was very long. We finally gave up and carried the wheelchair, then my son, down the stairs.
I think it is ridiculous that so many able-bodied people were refusing the stairs. The stairs are there for those who can take them and you shouldn't take up the elevator when there are those who need it.
