Same-sex marriage: How is it a threat?
The Gazette Opinion Staff

In his Jan. 31 guest column, Bryan M. English referred to opponents of same-sex marriage as “marriage supporters.” Using this term to denote people who want to deny other people the right to marry constitutes a textbook example of what George Orwell in his “1984” book called “Doublespeak.”
But the issue goes far deeper than semantics. The people in question claim that same-sex marriage threatens traditional marriage. They are yet to tell us how. However, if they see their marriages being threatened by someone else's marriage, then instead of rallying on the Capitol steps, they ought to visit a marriage counselor.
