Salute young, old veterans on Veterans Day

Veterans Day is one day of the year we salute young and old veterans and take pride in what they have done for our country. As a Vietnam veteran I struggled for years trying to find my place after I returned home with all my issues of my service.

On this, my 40th Veterans Day, I would like to salute all my veteran brothers and sisters. I also thank my wife and family for supporting me through all the hard times. I have found my place full of special people at the Cedar Rapids Vet Center. They would say they're just doing their job, but I can feel the caring and concern they have for all the vets they serve.

I thank them for their service to their fellow countrymen and women. Job well done.
