Safer forms of energy needed for our Earth
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 8, 2011 2:31 pm
Thank you for printing Paul Deaton's article (March 2). Humans should not be building more nuclear power plants. The heated water is bad for aquatic life; the mining and refining of uranium fuel are extremely dangerous to all involved and living in the area; and the waste products are extremely dangerous for untold generations.
We need more innovation developing safer forms of energy, and construction and better engines that will consume less energy. We have just one Earth. Let's not contaminate it with waste that leads to sterility and deformed offspring of every living thing.
