I endorse Ralph Russell for Cedar Rapids City Council, running at-large, and to ask you to vote for him on Nov. 5. In addition to his vast experience as a leader at HR Green - working with cities around the country for 44 years - his commitment to and affection for Cedar Rapids has been expressed through his vigorous community volunteerism, having given service to 20 organizations, chairing at least 10 of them over many years. Russell is a valuable asset to this community.
We need Russell's skills at this critical time in our community's growth. His engineering experience will benefit Cedar Rapids in much-needed community, economic, and infrastructure development and improvement. His chief executive officer and community expertise with large-scale budgets will ensure decision making that is wise and which safeguards our city's and taxpayers' money and guides us into the future.
