Romney is best for the country’s future
The Gazette Opinion Staff

The 2010 election cycle is approaching and while changes may be few in liberal Eastern Iowa, there is going to be a cleaning of the house nationwide. More than a few, too, are thinking ahead to 2012 to replace this disastrous anti-business president. His values are not those of most Americans and those of entrepreneurs looking for economic infrastructure to bring jobs back to the private sector and rein in government.
I am supporting Mitt Romney. Not only does he have the most cost-effective health care plan that literally has saved Massachusetts, he has the business sense and intelligence to weave key people into key roles in implementing a radical halt to this runaway train of spending we are on now.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee would be a good vice president, as would Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. Sarah Palin is a danger, better suited to a Cabinet post, and Newt Gingrich is a political grenade; you can never trust the guy to stay the course.
Romney has strong convictions, and he is a clean-living, hard-working and decent man. Romney is the best chance America has at cleaning up this mess that the Bushes, Obama and the Clintons ignored and created.
