Rod Blum wrong to promote term limits

I see in his recent letter to The Gazette, Congressman Rod Blum is promoting term limits still. Term limits remove responsibility from 'we the people” to be involved in government.
Our Founders intended this government to be 'of the people, by the people and for the people,” not a bunch of government bureaucrats. They intended good, responsible government to flow from the bottom up, and not from the top down.
Good citizenry demands people take a responsible and active role in their government because it affects every aspect of their lives.
Term limits take away this responsibility and make people politically lazy. It is much better to educate the bum in office rather than replace him/her with another uneducated bum every two years as demanded by term limits. This only results in wheel spinning.
One way to accomplish this is to actively promote The New American news magazine. This is a pro-Constitution news magazine that provides honest news and doesn't mince words. Every quarter, it publishes the voting record of every representative and senator, and scores them on their support of the Constitution.
Term limits are a lack of responsibility on the part of the people and will not work. A corrupt politician in a dead-end term can cause all kinds of mischief before the term has expired. Former President Barack Obama was a prime example of this.
