Rock Island Clean Line will help wind energy

We have an abundant amount of affordable, clean and efficient wind power, yet when driving the rural highways, you will often see turbines standing idle. Why? No way to move this power - our power lines are at capacity. The proposed Rock Island Clean Line I read about in The Gazette is what we need to spur growth in the stagnant wind energy industry.
We have seen the benefits the wind industry can bring. Manufacturing facilities that were once idle are producing turbines to harness the wind and bringing good-paying jobs back to hardworking Iowans. Community colleges and public universities in Iowa are developing programs to produce the next generation of wind energy engineers and maintenance crews.
This could all be lost if we don't have a way to move this clean commodity. Take a moment to look at the project and see the benefits it will provide to our economy and the future it could provide to our children. Visit www.rockislandcleanline.com.
