As the father of an Air Force veteran, I am excited that retired Col. Ken Rizer is running to represent the citizens of Iowa House District 68. Leadership is important, and never more so than today. We need a representative who is able to work with a diverse set of interests, and bring them together toward a common goal. My son often related to me how his military commanders did just that.
Rizer was a shining example of exceptional leadership throughout his military career, and especially during his time commanding Andrews Air Force Base, where he led men, women and families from all walks of life. That kind of experience is exactly what we need to get things done in Des Moines. He already has made a positive impact on our community through his leadership at Goodwill of the Heartland, helping veterans and others achieve their full potential. Rizer is the right choice for me and the right choice for District 68.
