The owner of Riverside Casino, who is protesting the Cedar Rapids casino, is quite possibly the biggest hypocrite I’ve ever seen.
He didn’t care about jobs and revenue lost to other casinos when he moved in the Riverside, did he? Of course he's worried about losing his revenue, but this happens every day and he cares nothing about the revenue and jobs it could bring to Linn County.
I want the casino in Cedar Rapids. We deserve it and the drive to Riverside sucks. Shame on him for bringing employees to the (Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission) hearing on April 3, too, having them talk about losing their jobs; what a nice way to blackmail them and put the fear of God into them as well.
Now the shoe is on the other foot. If Cedar Rapids doesn’t get its casino, I will never again patronize Riverside. I will encourage everyone I know to boycott it, too.
