Reynolds is guided by politics, not public health guidance

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has thrown up her hands and just quit on the COVID-19 pandemic. She's rescinded the pathetic few guidelines we had protecting seniors like me from an Iowa where every trip outside the house courts danger and death.
Upon whose advice did she make this decision? It certainly wasn't from health care professionals. If you go to a hospital and clinic in Iowa, they insist you wear a mask and they take your temperature. Reynolds has consistently ignored recommendations from public health professionals, including epidemiologists, vaccine researchers, and coronavirus experts. So who does she depend on for guidance?
One can only assume it's her political cronies, at the state and national level. People have often called for the state government to operate like a business. This is what happens when it does. Money talks and common sense walks.
