Rewards outweigh risk for rezoning in Fairfax

Recently, the city of Fairfax was asked to rezone a parcel of property near Highway 151 from residential to commercial. The request was turned down, but not based on the facts.
Change always comes with risk. The financial rewards to the city could be great, as well as reward to the local school district. Is it risk free? No, nothing is, but in my opinion, the potential gain outweighs the risk. It is everyone's right to disagree, but disagree on fact, not just not wanting it in your backyard.
Hopefully this project still has life, and the city of Fairfax can reap some of the rewards.
