Review bill’s contents, not talking points

An Aug. 17 letter demonized town hall attendees as dupes of insurance companies and listed alleged lies promulgated by these people. The writer should review the contents ofH.R. 3200 rather than accept the talking points of the administration. It is a flagrant attempt by government to control health care and your life.
1. A health care commissioner will determine benefits and treatments.
2. Physician services will be reduced under Medicaid. Expect
$500 billion to be taken from Medicare to fund H.R. 3200.
3. Government will control hospital expansion, physician residencies, doctor fees, what drugs are to be available, treatments, readmissions and drug prices, and will have access to your financial records
4. Adding 40 million people to a health care system without enough resources means delays and rationing.
5. Abortions are omitted but not eliminated. If the plan passes, the commissioner can then deem them an approved medical procedure.
6. You will be fined if you do not have insurance.
7. There is no guarantee you can keep your insurance plan.
8. National health care failed in Britain, Canada, and France.
Costs can be reduced by tort reform and intrastate markets on health insurance (both opposed by Democrats).
