Rettig understands how government works
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Candidate Janelle Rettig is uniquely qualified to represent us on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors. She has a wide range of experience that includes serving on Iowa Natural Resources Commission, the Johnson County Trails Advisory Committee (as chair), Iowa City Municipal Airport Commission (as chair), Iowa Bicycle Coalition (development director), Northside Marketplace Business Association (founder and president), Johnson County Compensation Board, and the League of Women Voters (treasurer).
In these positions Rettig has had to deal with management decisions and, with some of them, substantial budgets. She understands how county government works and how to work effectively with others.
In addition, she has been actively involved in the local community through numerous volunteer and business activities. We know Rettig will be a dedicated, conscientious and informed representative.
