Restrictive gun laws not the answer

The latest school shooting has once again caused a full out assault against guns, gun owners and the National Rifle Association.

I would like to touch on a few points for citizens who blame guns for this violence. School shooters know they will meet one of the following end points: death by suicide, death by police gunfire or life in prison without parole. We all know a school shooter is mentally deranged. Who else would enter into a situation where they know their life as they know it will be over? (They are effectively carrying out a role of a 'suicide bomber” but with a gun.) Someone that is deranged doesn't follow laws. What would additional gun laws do to stop this evil? My thought is absolutely nothing.

As a father of school age children and a responsible gun owner who has owned guns all his life, I see additional gun laws as a 'feel good” movement for people that do not appreciate the 2nd Amendment. Stripping me and fellow responsible gun owners of their rights will not solve the problem we are seeing today.

I am not claiming to have the answers to stop the madness in our schools, but I am certain that further restrictive gun laws are not the answer.
