Todd Dorman, you enumerated the issues of teachers teaching CRT, X-rated books, and socialist indoctrination (before you even mentioned U.S. history), so you could be in favor of schools teaching this “crap.” Unfortunately, children in other states, were/are being taught this “crap.” That’s why we’re trying to prevent it from happening here.
These topics appear to be the primary agenda of the national teacher’s union. Why won’t they be more transparent with their agendas? Why is your article not challenging that unelected group?
There is a national groundswell for “transparency” in the classroom because of the departure from teaching history (history is neither good nor bad), math, and proper English, among other things.
Are you so focused on your perceived affronts from the Legislature that you have not seen the firestorm around these and other more egregious issues in other states? Things like sexual assault by students and teachers, parents being arrested for wanting “transparency” in what their children are being “taught,” unwarranted masking and more?
It seems to me that you:
Don’t like/believe in the decisions of the Iowa Legislature made under “The Golden Dome of Wisdom.”
Don’t like the fact that the Legislature, elected by Iowa citizens, is conservative.
Don’t like aspects of democracy that seem so burdensome to you when it’s not supporting your agenda.
Why don’t you move to Michigan or Illinois or NYC or California? I think the legislatures in those places still share your views.
