Respect gained through character

To the editor:
The Hollywood community is known for its support of the First Amendment that lawfully supports free speech and has taken advantage of this in order to spread their wide open productions that offend many American citizens. Yet, they continue to serve up films which 'stretch the rules of human decency” just because Americans will accept it because of our 'anything goes” lifestyle.
It's interesting that the huge Sony Corp. has canceled its recently celebrated comedy film based upon the planned assassination of North Korea's 'Blessed Leader.” When faced with serious physical threats to theater audiences and the Sony Corp., the company shut down the film and couldn't retreat fast enough. If only the current American administration had the backbone to push back in a slightly less deadly manner, our position in the world would be more respected as we once used to be.
This is a matter of character, not political preferences.
