Resident has no faith in C.R. government

Is it not a city's job to protect its citizens? I keep looking around and still see the devastation of the horrible 2008 flood. I do not see much flood mitigation. I see building happening in flood-prone areas and the city actually encouraging it.
City home inspections? Well, my experience has been city inspectors missing obvious violations and doing little about it.
I have no faith in our city government, especially the City Council and Mayor Ron Corbett. Local elections are tough but I encourage everyone to consider a complete overhaul.
Since I feel the city only cares about collecting my taxes, I am looking to move. However, as long as I am here, these politicians will get the same loyalty and support from me as they give.
