Residency petitions a waste of time
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jan. 25, 2014 12:36 pm
Arg! Allen “Snooks” Bouska, having walked the plank and been keelhauled twice over his Marion residency, has stood before and passed the evil eye of scrutiny. Methinks, faithfully serving as mayor of Marion, owning a business and home in said town, eating, sleeping and living in residence, has qualified Snooks to be a true and trusted “Marion Swamp Fox.”
Future residency petitions must be put to the test of fire to see if each signer is actually a resident of Marion before proceeding. Signers should provide the same information they are seeking from another resident.
Hey, enough is enough, too much time and money has been spent on this. We'll need another local-option sales tax to cover costs of processing frivolous petitions if this keeps up.
