Republicans support wealthy tax cheats

The GOP is blaming the Biden Administration for the U.S. inflation, ignoring that nearly all countries are facing high inflation, due to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and its impact on food supply, and the lingering effects of the pandemic. We are part of the global economy.
The GOP further decries the Biden administration's efforts to invest in our economy through the Inflation Reduction Act. In an IPR news story, Ashley Hinson accused President Joe Biden and supporters of “living under a rock,” not recognizing the financial pains of many Americans. Far from the “reckless spending” she proclaims, the Inflation Reduction Act is a catalyst for new technologies and new jobs, bolstering our economy and tax revenues.
At the same time, the GOP won’t consider taxing the ultrawealthy, who cheat the system and do not pay taxes. They would make the Tax Cuts Jobs Act permanent if Republicans win in November — a gift to the ultrawealthy. Their recent attacks on the IRS show there is more interest in keeping the agency underfunded than making sure those making the most pay what they owe. Even those facing years of student loan debt can now further bolster the economy, no thanks to Republicans who have called those making $125,000 the “wealthy elite.”
If Iowans support helping the ultrawealthy and pushing working Iowans further behind, continue voting for incumbent Republicans. But if you want to keep strengthening the middle class and our economy, vote for Liz Mathis, Mike Franken, and Deidre DeJear.
