Republicans not following Jesus
The Gazette Opinion Staff

There have been few issues that have not only divided, but demonstrated such diametrically opposed points of view as health care. Initially, I viewed this from a scientific point of view, but I've since begun to view this from a religious perspective.
There is so much in the Bible about those less advantaged whose welfare seems to be upmost in our Lord's mission, while at the same time He exhibits animosity toward money-changers. Strictly, from a biblical perspective, whose side is Jesus on - the masses or the insurance companies?
While I do not know whose side He is on, I can only go by Biblical lessons learned. How sad that virtually all those who oppose health care seem to have insurance, yet they oppose opportunities to insure those who are not as fortunate.
The Republican Party has been taken over by the least compassionate who at the same time only serve money-changers.
From my perspective, this is proof of God's existence.
