Republicans attack most vulnerable

To the editor:
After running a campaign in which Republicans refused to say what they stood for, Republicans took over Congress and immediately attacked the most venerable in our society, those who can't work due to disability.
Republicans did this in a very stealthy way, behind closed committee doors so it would be scantly reported. They also did it in such a way that it will not take effect immediately and also left the procedures to the administrators of Social Security so that they could later claim they had nothing to do with it. They will then blame reduced SSDI checks on Obama.
I am referring to the change in a budgeting rule that allowed moneys in the Social Security system to ebb and flow to cover shortfalls in certain areas. The most likely affected will be those receiving disability payment through Social Security. This ebb and flow has been in effect for nearly 50 years. This is one of the most craven and cowardly political acts ever, yet right in line with Republican philosophy of starving the poor and giving to the wealthy. All Republicans should loudly disown this craven act.
