Republicans are not working for Iowans

To the editor:
Iowa Republican Representatives and Senators (Rod Blum, Joni Ernst, Chuck Grassley, Steve King, David Young) are not working for the majority of Iowans.
They vote to have the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) repealed. Why? It has been reported several times the act is working. It is holding down insurance costs and to date provides protection to more than 16 million legal U.S. residents previously uninsured. The pre-existing condition alone makes the ACA worthwhile. The Republican House voted more than 50 times to weaken or cancel parts of the ACA. Yet they have not brought an alternative plan to the House floor. What a waste of time and our tax dollars. If their common sense would kick in, they could work with their Democrat friends and fix the parts they feel need attention. This is what the majority of the U.S. residents would like to see happen.
On another important issue Rep. Blum joined his Republican friends and passed bill (HR 1029) to reshape the Environmental Protection Agency Science Advisory Board to make it more industry friendly and less dependent on the views of academic scientists. Sounds like that could be a conflict of interest and will it continue as a 'protection” agency?
The Republicans are not working to help the poor or middle class. They recently voted a 10-year budget, which if prevails, would cut domestic programs, change Medicare to voucher program, devolve K-12 education to state, repeal Dodd-Frank financial-regulation law and rules out tax increases on the wealthy.
