Republican cares when it finally hits home

Want an example of what is fundamentally wrong with the Republican Party and why I am proudly a Democrat.

Mike Bohacek, a Republican state senator in Minnesota, criticized President Donald Trump for using the term “retarded” referring to Tim Walz.

He said since the birth of his child with Down syndrome “I have been an unapologetic advocate for people with intellectual disabilities.” Classic Republican. I bet before his child was born, he didn’t give a wit about his special needs constituents. Democrats have fought to fund special needs through public education and Medicaid for decades. Two programs Republicans continue to cut. So, the Democrats have advocated for his daughter because it’s the right thing to do, not just because it’s now “my family.”
