Renters already pay toward property tax increases

Regarding a March 15 letter titled “Impose surcharge on renters for funds”: Renters already pay property tax. Landlords pay property tax, and then divide that amount by the number of units. Then they factor that amount into the rent that renters pay. Like all other businesses, they pass the taxes on to the customer to pay.
All taxes are passed on and paid by the individual. Tax is an expense to the business - Economics 101.
