Remove seclusion rooms

I thank the Gazette for the November 30 editorial on seclusion rooms in schools. The practice is shocking and should have no place in schools. Likewise, a child who is so out of control that they may hurt someone, also has no place in a regular school. They have special needs that should be addressed by those with special training. Do any parents, educators, psychologists, social workers, or medical practitioners actually approve of placing children in small black rooms by themselves? Schools are the example. Will this practice become acceptable in homes, daycare centers and other child care situations? Any moral decision maker has an obligation to put a stop to this practice and look for other remedies to out of control behavior, both immediate and future. Children did not create their problems. Adults are the caretakers to deal with those problems compassionately.
