Remove invasive plants and enjoy the beauty

If you like seeing all the prairie wildflowers on Mormon Trek, say thank you to Americorp, DOC Hope House and Abbie from Master Gardeners. In the heat and humidity, they have pulled out piles of invasive weeds so that we can enjoy the beauty.
Have you seen the butterflies on the bright orange, purple or yellow flowers? The Mormon Trek mohawk divider strip and the corner of Mormon Trek and Rohret Road have purple puffs of vervain, yellow cone flowers and swaying grass strands of side oats grama. Look closer and see at least 10 other varieties of prairie plants.
You can help by removing Iowa invasives from your yards. There are many Iowa invasive species Internet sites, but here is my favorite: www.iowalivingroad
