Remember legislative action on guns in schools this November

It’s good practice to ask, before your child plays at a friend’s house, if that household has guns in it — and if so, are they securely stored. The Iowa Legislature has decided that not only can Iowa teachers and school staff carry guns; they are not required to disclose that they are carrying. Sometime in the next school year, a student or teacher is going to be seriously wounded, or worse, by a gun either accidentally or intentionally being fired.
Please remember this nonsense, as well as the legislature’s other plans to destroy public schools in Iowa (such as private school vouchers and gutting the Area Education Agencies), when you vote in November.
