Relocating geese doesn’t solve problem

I wish we could get the RAGBRAI people to come through this area every year. Maybe then we could get the mess cleaned up that the geese make. They have taken over Pinicon Ridge and Robbins Lake area. You have to be very careful where you walk, lest you step in a goose mess.
Ah, but wait, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has come to the rescue. They (with city workers and volunteers) rounded up 500-plus of them and hauled them far away. Well, not that far; Hawkeye Wildlife Area is a short jaunt for them. They did take some out west a ways, not far enough, though.
They have created a messy situation and don't have any answer to it.
