Regents model driven by politics

The Iowa Board of Regents model of the universities enrollment 'metrics” is a malignant mandate: discriminatory, anti-diversity and damaging educationally.
To focus on over recruiting a predominately Caucasian state population is discriminating. It is counter to any concept of diversity by creating a more homogeneous rural class to inbreed and put cultural blinders on incoming freshman.
Less non-Iowan enrollment is educationally inane by reducing the infusion of a vast variety of thought from around the world that fertilizes fruition in engineering, literature, medical research, performing arts, teaching, etc.
The formula will hurt many instate students who want to go to smaller schools that will certainly have less enrollment and curriculum.
One backlash may be an exodus of home grown superior scholars who seek a diverse and rational approach to freedom of education.
You cannot shackle minds to make them stay at home.
This issue is driven by politics, big money and not based on optimum learning opportunities for foreign and Iowa youth.
