Readers upset with downtown changes

To the editor:
In 2014, Cedar Rapids became an All-America City. We have a huge medical building right in the middle of downtown and a state-of-the-art library, but they need some money to run it. Good thinking on the city's part. They could have a very nice library where the old one was, but that wasn't good enough. Now, they are spending over a million dollars to change Greene Square and the county is donating more than $200,000 toward a new park sculpture, too. Not one red cent for anything for seniors. Nothing.
Next they are changing the streets downtown back to two way and put in four-way stop signs and I am sure that won't be cheap. Do they think this will bring people downtown? Think again. I avoid downtown whenever I can and most of my friends do, too.
This letter won't change anything, but I feel better having written it!
