We attended the Iowa Ideas Conference in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 20 and 21. We were 'wowed” by the event and wanted to give a huge 'Thank You” to The Gazette for planning, organizing and carrying it out.
The logistics alone - the hotel rooms, the convention space to house multiple simultaneous conversations, the technology involved, the registration of and assistance to attendees, etc. - all required a major team effort.
Even more important than logistics was the program content. Over 60 fascinating and important topics were discussed, each with excellent presenters.
The sessions challenged attendees to create a better Iowa. We left Cedar Rapids inspired to do that, and we know that others throughout the state left feeling the same.
We applaud The Gazette and event sponsors for thinking big and for motivating others to do so. The team at The Gazette pulled off a remarkable event; one that will have lasting impact in and around Cedar Rapids, and well beyond.
We hope that Iowa Ideas: Year Three is in the offing. If it is, we'll be there, and we'll be encouraging others to join us.
