Reader is fed up with Congress

What is it with Congress? It seems the consensus in Washington is that no problem is too great that it can't be completely ignored, if they set their minds to it. Always blame the other side; both sides being so gifted with B.S. If it weren't for them, there could be a shortage of fertilizer.
In 1907 President Theodore Roosevelt signed an act prohibiting idiots, imbeciles, insane people and feebleminded people from entering the United States. If that was in effect today the halls of Congress would be completely empty.
How about we encourage members of Congress to put their egos aside, to forget about voting only on party lines and work for the common safety and security for a change.
