Random checkpoints violate our rights
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 3, 2011 1:39 pm
A recent news story out of Tennessee stated that the Transportation Security Administration is expanding its power. The TSA is branching out from airports to subway and bus stations and also to random checkpoints along the highways of Tennessee.
These random checkpoints are a violation of the Fourth Amendment. America has been known as the land of the free. It appears that the title may no longer be accurate. We as a people must voice our concern to our senators and elected officials. Freedom can and will disappear as long as American citizens are silent.
