Rally was about our republic

I spent June 14 waving the flag and holding a picture of my father, who served in WWII. I was joined by millions of patriotic Americans across the country who came out, not to show fealty to one man, but to honor the Constitution and the military which has so valiantly defended it for more than 200 years.
Were he alive today, my dad would have joined me in standing against a regime that sends masked, warrantless thugs out to snatch people off the streets and deny them the due process guaranteed to everyone on American soil. He would have spoken out about a would-be dictator who withholds lawfully appropriated funding from medical research, national parks, FEMA, both domestic and foreign aid, and more.
To be clear, the No Kings rallies weren’t about a $45 million expenditure, as some have dismissively claimed. They were about pledging allegiance, not just to the flag, but to the republic for which it stands.
