Put country's interests first
The Gazette Opinion Staff

This is impossible to expect, but what if this starts at the top in Washington and will trickle down to the state and city government levels - that our politicians would do what they're paid to do and elected to do. Work for the people who hired them. Throw your personal greed and corrupt thinking patterns out the window. Trash your huge ego trips and work to help the people and the country that our forefathers worked and sacrificed so hard for. Quit taking things for granted.
Quit spending the people's money so foolishly. Money does not grow on trees.
If politicians could just take a step back and take a good, honest look at themselves and the beautiful country they are supposed to be taking care of. This is their time to shine. Quit putting your interests and your party's interests first and put the people's and the country's interests first instead.
