Public transportation needs to head south
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 2, 2009 11:08 pm
Cedar Rapids is not a small town. We are growing out south of Highway 30, off Edgewood and Stoney Point roads. Public transportation should be accessible to all in the city limits. Nor am I able to walk 50 minutes to the nearest bus stop. How are we to pay our bills, get groceries, make appointments to the doctor or even do a simple thing like go to the library?
For years, we have not been able to transfer to other buses without going to the terminal and paying the fee again.
Why can't we get service on the south side of Highway 30, particularly between 151 South and Stoney Point Road?
