Protect Iowa’s landscapes and waterways

The Green New Deal has sparked conversations in Washington surrounding ways we need to address Climate Change. What gets included in the proposal can greatly affect Iowa, for better or worse.
Biofuels are negatively impacting Iowa in a big way, and we are not talking about it.
In the United States, 40 percent of our corn crop is used for ethanol. The increased planting of food-based biofuels for ethanol and biodiesel are leading to habitat destruction and water pollution, without decreasing carbon emissions.
As a state, we need to be pursuing clean energy alternatives such as wind and solar energy. Wind energy produces 100 times more energy per acre than biofuels.
We need to let our leaders know we care about Iowa's natural landscape and the quality of our water. The time is now. if we do not act, our landscape and waterways may be completely destroyed before future generations are able to relish Iowa's natural beauty.
