Produce more flex-fuel vehicles
The Gazette Opinion Staff

When I see the cost of gas skyrocketing, and then go to a gas station with E85 and see how much lower it is, I think it's time to not only thank our farmers for growing the crops that go into ethanol, but to open up this fuel choice for more drivers. Ethanol reduces the cost of all gasoline by
40 cents per gallon because of the reduced imports of crude oil.
It's time for consumer fuel choice. Automakers should produce more flex-fuel vehicles and we should develop more infrastructure and gas pumps that can blend the fuel we want, fuel that is domestic and renewable, like ethanol.
This would not only be good for our country, but our community and our environment. It's about choice, and freedom. It's the American way.
