Press, stay on green and out Woods’ life

I opened The Gazette the day after Tiger Woods' news conference and found three articles in three sections about him.
On Feb. 20, a page 1A commentary from the Associated Press. This was a 12-paragraph review of the apology but revealed very little of the exact apology.
Next, page 3 of the sports section, local writer, Mike Hlas, pens a 14-paragraph story about the Tiger apology: “Tiger is us and we are him - sort of.” Hlas' theory is that “everyone on the planet over 3 months old has at least a little faulty wiring.” While that may be true, the local press would no more be interested in the dime-a-dozen story of “man cheats on wife” than an Eskimo would be for an offer of free ice.
Then, in the Accent section, an article about Woods appears on the Faith & Values page. Penned by local writer Molly Rossiter, it echoes the assertion that: “Tiger Woods' return to Buddhist faith means taking responsibility for his actions.” If Woods were faithful, he would not have cheated on his wife.
Woods is a great, dare I say, legendary golfer. I don't care about his private life. Yes, it's shameful that he screwed around on his wife but it's their life. Can't we as golf fans just let the man play golf? Let's let Woods and his wife figure out what they need to do about repairing their relationship. The press should stay on the green and out of Woods' pants.
