Presidents take easyway out, harm freedoms

Our Constitution of the United States of America is a unique political document. It defines the role of government is to protect and promote the God-given rights of us citizens.
In my lifetime, every president from Herbert Hoover to Barack Obama has taken an oath of office to protect and promote our Constitution. Yet, every one of those presidents has used his office to assault and denigrate our God-given rights as U.S. citizens.
Why has this been done and by strong-charactered men of talent, ability and drive? These were men of good intentions at the pinnacle of the political world. Why did they fail their oath of office?
The freedom we enjoy is superior to that of any other citizen in this world today. But those freedoms today are far inferior to those enjoyed by U.S. citizens when I was a boy. Why?
Could it be our politicians have the same morality as we do? When faced with a crisis in our life, we look for an easy way out. When we have pain, we are apt to take a pill rather than toughing in out. We approach every crisis with a search for an easy way out instead of the best solution. We have rights, but we also have responsibilities.
