President pales when compared to predecessors

Alas, we've finally come full circle. It took 230 years and 45 presidents, but we have gone from George Washington who could not tell a lie to Donald Trump who could not tell the truth if it smacked him in the face. From a president who devoted his life to serving the country he helped create to one who has spent his life serving himself and dedicated to tearing down the social fabric and democratic norms of our nation.
In only two years, I believe he and his administration have managed to compile more ethical violations than all other presidents combined. It is sad when you begin to long for the days when Richard Nixon and his bumbling plumbers got caught up in a lie. At least we could keep up with that scandal as it unfolded, whereas a new Trump scandal is exposed daily.
None of us should be surprised, but the voters who put him in office and continue to support him should be embarrassed, if they have any shame at all. Our country, our children, deserve better and, hopefully, in 2020 voters will look beyond their own selfish desires and elect someone who can restore dignity to the office of President of the United States of America.
