Preserve railroad heritage in Marion park
The Gazette Opinion Staff

I can't believe that our city government may destroy our historical former railroad depot in our city park. Many years ago, we had hundreds of rail cars loaded and going west through our city. And also great passenger trains, four every day from Chicago, stopping at Marion for passengers and going to Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland, Ore.
Great service that helped Marion grow from a small town to the city it is today. So let's leave the depot and caboose in our city park. They have great services to serve our people of Marion.
