Prescription costs were a shock

To the editor:
There's a financial shock awaiting those who are about to have a prescription refilled this year.
For nearly a decade, I've taken a pill daily to prevent kidney stones from forming. Each refill cost less than $27. On Tuesday, the best price from the two pharmacies surveyed was for more than $62.
Perhaps doctors should now also prescribe a companion pill for preventing heart attacks at the pharmacy windows.
