Pope weakens apology by blaming the devil

Comic Flip Wilson once made us all laugh as one of his characters proclaimed “The devil made me do it.” Today (Saturday), I am not laughing as the pope tries to blame the actions of pedophile priests on “the devil” by bringing their atrocities to public scrutiny in this “The year of the Priest.”
While the pope “begs forgiveness from God and from people involved,” his sincerity is watered down by the fact that “the enemy (i.e., devil)” made it all public.
So, the actions of these priests would have been seen as “not so bad” had not the devil made their sick and twisted acts public?
Whew, good P.R. there, pope, or should we call it B.S? The days of a male-dominated religion should be numbered, but I am not holding my breath!
I hope I live long enough to see good, honest, caring people of faith and morals around the world bond and realize that they are the backbones, hearts, hands and voices of the God/dess on earth. The message was to love and care for one another and the planet.
The Supreme Being of your choice is not influenced by money, the size of a church, torture, rape, war, political affiliations, clever news releases or any other form of “power over the people.”
